Sugaring FAQs

What is the pain level?

Most clients experience significantly less pain than traditional waxing. If you are new to hair removal, you may experience slight discomfort as the hair is removed from the follicle, but the pain quickly goes away.

What should I do before my appointment?

Exfoliate 3 days prior to your appointment. Avoid coffee or alcohol within 4 hours of your appointment. Wear loose clothing and take a pain reliever an hour prior if needed. Come ready to relax!

Should I trim before I arrive?

No! You may trim too much, and the hair removal may not be possible. Approximately 1/8-1/4 of an inch of growth is necessary for a successful sugaring session. If your hair needs to be trimmed, it will be trimmed at the salon. Please allow 2-3 weeks of growth if it is your first time sugaring.

What should I do after my appointment?

24 Hours after Sugaring avoid touching, exfoliation, exercise, sweating, sun exposure, and heavy lotions/moisturizers. Give your follicles time to close (approx. 3 days). 3 days after sugaring, exfoliate twice a week and moisturize with a light oil such as jojoba or coconut oil. Plan your next visit within 4-6 weeks depending on hair growth.
